The Hockaday School

Dallas, TX

Pritchard Associates managed the construction and renovation process of The Hockaday School in Dallas, TX. The project included a new Fine Arts facility with renovations to the Science building and the dormitories on campus. Completed in 2014, the new Hockaday School Centennial Center includes a complete renovation of the existing two-story Science building, the addition of a third floor of teaching spaces, and the creation of the Lyda Hill STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Institute. Also, completed in 2014, the dormitory renovations consisted of a complete remodel of the interior spaces and girl’s rooms, as well as adding a new elevator and connection bridge between the two buildings allowing ease of access between buildings for resident students. Completed in 2016, the 85,000 SF Fine Arts Facility signals a renewed commitment to the Arts and includes new rehearsal space for orchestra and chorus, a 200-seat black box theater, expanded and enhanced studios for painting and ceramics, an art gallery and rooms for individual music instruction and practice, along with associated support, office, and storage space. A new outdoor space includes an amphitheater, designated areas for art display, and a workspace for ceramics and large sculpture.
