The Hockaday School

Dallas, TX

In 2013, The Hockaday School, a private college preparatory school in Dallas, Texas, embarked on a multi-phase, multi-year project to upgrade campus facilities. The on-campus dormitory renovation was a remodel of student housing, public spaces, and bedrooms, along with the addition of an elevator, and the construction of a connecting bridge between two dormitories. The dormitory was quickly followed by renovating the Centennial Center, a two-story science building with a third story added for classroom space. The Fine Arts facility was completed in 2016, which included a new rehearsal space for both the orchestra and chorus, a 200-seat black box theater, expanded and improved painting and ceramic studios, an art gallery, music instruction rooms, support spaces, offices, and storage. These new facilities signaled a renewed commitment to the Arts for The Hockaday School. The facility was enhanced with a new outdoor space that includes an amphitheater, designated areas for art display, and a workspace for ceramics and large sculpture. In 2019, Hockaday completed an 8,200-SF Child Development Center dedicated to providing on-site childcare for faculty and staff.
